Hello and Welcome to My Home!

I know you could be perusing someone else’s blog, so I am delighted that you decided to visit mine. My blog is my home. It’s where I can be totally transparent about Being Charlotte Avery. It’s where I can completely be who I am, while empowering and inspiring you to fully embrace who you are. The Being Charlotte Avery Blog is where I will talk about ALL things marriage, motherhood, family, and more. I’ll share the magnificence and the mayhem of being married to the RHL while being the mom of our seven children (The A-Team), and navigating the waters of growing a business.

My life is TRULY an adventure, and that is what I want you to experience every time you visit my blog. As you embark on this journey with me, you’ll laugh, cry, agree or disagree, and discover your own personal truths along the way. Prepare yourself to be enlightened, empowered, and motivated to be your best self.

Welcome to the world of Being Charlotte Avery!

Always Being,

Charlotte E. Avery

“Mommy, Are We in Danger?”

“Mommy, are we in danger?” That is the question my 11-year-old daughter asked after I told her and my 12-year-old son about the senseless murder of yet another “brown” man that now has become a hashtag.

I Make Milk…

I wanted to exercise my right to feed my children whenever and wherever I wanted to without shame, embarrassment, fear, or hesitation or condemnation. I wanted to flex my breastfeeding power and muscle. And I did just that. I even have a favorite T-shirt that I have worn at least for times this month.

Help Me to Help A Family

I am reaching out to you, my social media community, and anyone else who will use their power for good to help me help this family. I will use my power for good!!!

Dear Body Shaming Playboy Playmate

Girls and women who behave in the careless way that you have are the reason why I do what I do.

Nothing Compares…

There is nothing wrong with admiring and appreciating various facets of another woman. Nevertheless, to compare yourself to her can be detrimental. Comparison causes envy, low self-esteem, hurt, anger, and list of other unhealthy emotions that lead to unhealthy behavior.

Old Yeller

Almost 12 weeks ago I was sitting in the hair salon under the dryer when I came across a blog post by Veronica Webb. Her post entitled A Quiet House, hit me in the face like a ton of bricks. I think I still have the marks on my face.

How’s It Hangin’?

People who have known me for quite some time know that while in junior high and up until my senior year of high school, I was an athlete. Through college, grad school and after grad school I was an athletic trainer.

Are you a Keeper or a Violator of The Woman Code

Have you ever been in the middle of doing something, I mean seriously on a mission and then been side tracked? That happened to me a few weeks ago. I had been on a mission to accomplish something that I thought and still think is major.

A Hairy Situation

Today an FB (Facebook) friend of mine posted on her page that she needed to get her eyebrows done so bad. I smiled when I saw her post and I responded. Then the more I thought about it I said to myself, “Self, at least she can see her eyebrows.”

I know it may be hard for some of you to believe but we live in a REAL world, with REAL people, with REAL issues. I hate to break it to you, but your marriage and my marriage was not scripted as a soap opera, story book fairy tale, a broadway or church stage play.

Once Again, I Peed on Myself

When you are alone for days or weeks at a time, you eventually become drawn to people. Talking to randos is the norm. I’ll never forget the conversation with the aquarium fisherman, forest ranger, and women at the Thai market. It’s refreshing to compare notes on life with people from vastly different backgrounds.
